Accelerating cancer research from discovery to patient impact — with the patient voice at the heart of every step.

Cancer Research @UCC is pleased to publish its Annual Report 2025, providing an overview of the Centre’s progress, achievements and impact across 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. The UCC Cancer Trials Group is housed within Cancer Research @UCC, bringing together the expertise and infrastructure that support the delivery of high-quality cancer trials.

The report reflects a significant period of growth and momentum for Cancer Research @UCC, a leading translational cancer research centre and the dedicated research arm of the CUH/UCC Cancer Centre. It outlines the Centre’s work to accelerate cancer discoveries from concept to patient impact through multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical research, patient partnership and strategic investment in research infrastructure and talent.

Structured around four integrated programmes, Strategy & Impact, Translational Accelerator, Trials Operations Excellence, and Research Talent Development, the report highlights progress across governance, investigator-led research, clinical trial delivery, research talent development, public and patient involvement, national and global engagement, fundraising and partnerships.

Key highlights include 60 publications, 30 new trials opened, 254 patients recruited to trials, 5 new investigator-led trials activated, over €2 million in new secured research funding, and more than 40 international collaborations.

Cancer Research @UCC would like to thank all researchers, clinicians, trial teams, professional staff, patient and public involvement contributors, funders, donors, collaborators and partners who have contributed to this work.
